    SA Topographical 1:50 000 Maps
    From Crooks Corner to Cape Point.
    The 1:50 000 topographical maps are the largest scale maps
    providing full coverage of South Africa. The series consists
    of a total of 1916 sheets.
    They accurately depict the location of natural and man-made
    features by means of symbols and colour, and elevation by
    means of spot heights and contours (20 m interval).
    Additional information added are place names, boundaries,
    magnetic data, etc.
    These maps contain essential information for planning
    and decision making but also have many other uses.

     

    Aeronautical Maps 1:500 000.
    International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) requirements.
    The 1:500 000 aeronautical edition maps are essentially
    the same as the 1:500 000 topo-admin maps but with modifications
    for aeronautical purposes.
    The same topographical background is used except for the
    heights which are depicted in feet.
    Magisterial district information has been removed to reduce clutter.
    INTERNATIONAL CIVIL AVIATION ORGANISATION
    (ICAO) AERONAUTICAL CHARTS (scale 1:1 000 000) are also available.

    1:1 000 00 Wall Maps of South Africa - whole country.
    A map of South Africa at a scale of 1:1 million consists of four
    sheets designed to be joined together to make a wall map of the
    whole of South Africa. The joined size is 1.56 x 1.76m (height x breadth).
    The depiction of elevation is enhanced by hill shading



    1: 2 500 000 Wall Map of Southern Africa.
    The 1:2½ million Southern Africa map is a wall map of the
    Southern part of Africa.
    South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Namibia, Botswana and portions
    of Zimbabwe and Mozambique are included on this map.

     

     


    Single Sheet Provincial Wall Maps for all the Provinces.
    Scales vary from 1:300 000 to 1: 1 500 000, depending on size of province.
    The series of provincial maps provides a map of each province,
    on its own in a single sheet. The maps are designed mainly
    for administrative purposes and depict the cities, towns,
    smaller urban centres, district/regional councils, rural councils
    (rural local government) and magisterial districts,
    as well as the main road and rail networks, main rivers
    and dams, nature reserves and airports. 

    1:250 000 Topo Cadastral Maps.
    The 1:250 000 topo-cadastral maps show topographical detail
    with the addition of names, numbers and boundaries of
    original farms, the boundaries of magisterial districts,
    and provincial and international boundaries



     

    1: 500 000 Topo Administrative Maps.
    The 1:500 000 topo-admin maps depict similar information as the 1:250 000 maps
    but without the cadastral information.
    Magisterial districts are shown.
    This map is useful for national and regional planning but
    is also used for purposes such as route planning and travelling.
